Q: Why is our RAW VIRGIN Coconut Oil for Dogs different than cheaper store bought brands?
A: Standard coconut oils, found in most retail stores, are generally less expensive. Standard Coconut oil is produced on a large scale and usually made from copra. Copra is naturally dried coconut meat that becomes slightly rancid as it is air dried or smoke dried. Multiple contaminates can occur to the coconut during this process.
Oil pressed from the copra may have a solvent used during the extraction process. This crude oil must be refined with lye or bleach and then deodorized. This process removes much of the nutrients and nutritional components. This oil is mass produced and much cheaper to buy.
